Why not just make a better performing N/A then?? No worries about turbo lag (even though modern turbos are so much better now) and reliability through simplicity!

One word my friend-that-never-agrees-on-anything-with-the-Germans-once-it-comes-to-cars: TORQUE! Low-Pressure Twin-Turbos will have almost zero turbo lag, just drive one of those 135i's for example (until February 2010 I believe, after that they're fired by a single TwinScroll Turbo). 3.0 liter straight-6 with twin turbos, there's a neligible amount of lag and then you go... and go some more... and some more! Until you're like holy crap, I've barely revved out of 4th gear and am doing 230km/h?

You could just get a 440 V8 and be making enough torque at idle to kick-start a small planet.

Edit: By the way, if you chip those 1.8T and 2.0T German engines, you can expect at least 50 hp and 60 torque. They're MONSTERS when chipped.

Yes, the 1.8T and 2.0T can be easily chipped / remapped (always go for a full remap, a simple chip or powerbox is just rubbish in terms of reliability), but they have turbo lag the size of the Grand Canyon. Also, there have been problems with head gaskets.

Here is my baby, 1989 BMW 635CSi. Shameless plug of it's for sale as well. :-P

As for myself, still riding my 2007 BMW 118d 5-door, 143bhp, RWD, 6-speed manual transmission. She's pretty much full kit, except for Bluetooth (fixed that myself), M-Sport Package and a few other little tidbits.

This is another one of those totally random threads, but I've seen it done on a couple of other forums and it's good fun actually ;)

I just ordered an OCZ EvoStream 600W PSU for 49.95€ and 2x2GB A-Data Vitesta Extreme Edition for 48.95€.

What have you bought/ordered/treated yourself to today? :)
