  1. Fixed! apparently... turning off floppy support in bios is all thats needed. nevermind me.....
  2. yeah, this is post failsafe defaults and CMOS clear. Id just reinstall XP but i lost it during my recent move
  3. Hey guys, its been a while anyway, i looked through some of the 7 issues here and didnt quite see this issue discussed. So Ive tried to install win 7 from a disc, and from usb, it runs into the same issue each time. It loads the files, i see the windows logo do its flashy intro then I get to the blue screen where on a good run it will give me the big blue INSTALL button. however, that big blue button wont appear. ive tested the dvd and bootable drive on my other two computers and its fine. the non booting one is: E6600 C2D gigabyte p45 ud3p 2gig Gskill ddr2 8800GTS any ideas?
  4. It is indeed eVGA, but im unsure if i got a warranty... didnt really think about it
  5. Ok, so now that i have my main rig up and running (thank you to whomever suggested the gigabyte UD3 board) my two backups can go back to faithfully doing what they were before, being my roommates wow computers. however, one of them is having some issues its a DFI nforce 4 ultra d 3500 + venice 2 gig ram 7900gtx. it used to be a rare occurence but now its just over and over. doesnt seem to matter weather im in a graphic intensive are or someplace simple. what will happen is the game will kinda lock, but not totally. the mouse still works, but cant click anything, obviously. prior to this i was getting slight artifacting. i pulled the stock cooler apart, cleaned it out and threw some as5 on it and replaced the thermal pads. while the artifacting sofar is gone, im still having the locking issue. i threw my old 7800gtx in and everything works perfectly with it any ideas, or is this thing just hobbling along on its last legs begging to be shot
  6. that board is looking pretty nice CC, my only concern is if my thermaltake V1 is going to fit, looks kinda tight o_O
  7. hrm, i just may have to go out on a limb and give a new brand a try here. being so recommended by everyone here certainly helps my confidence in the board. thank you all for the suggestions
  8. currently, the fight is between this gigabyte board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128359 and this DFI board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813136059 ive never used gigabyte before so im a little wary. my two dfi boards are still kicking though
  9. both of those are looking pretty nice, msi has some and ive had good experience with them what about overclockability?
  10. i have to start by saying it has been a while since ive really been keeping up with the latest and greatest in hardware. ive determined that my 680i board is dead and im looking for something to replace it with but i dont know what the latest chipsets are or any chipsets with similar features are anybody have a suggestion for a cheap replacement, my backup gives me a headache X_X
  11. so here i was, minding my own business watching some hockey fight on youtube when my whole screen just goes white, no sound or anything, total lock. i couldnt even hard shutdown by holding in my power button it was that nasty. i eventually get it shut down and then when i try to restart it i get a 94 post code which if found means its hanging at Final init for last micro details before boot. i really have no idea what that could possibly mean. i tried resetting cmos removing the battery all that jazz to no avail. ive tried it with two sticks of ram, one stick, and put them in every possible combination, and im stuck at that post code this is really throwing me for a loop, any ideas guys? UPDATE/EDIT. ok so it would appear its not really a 94. its just random. this time i got an upside down 6 and a 9.. i think the first number looks like an 8 on a digital clock with the lower right bar missing, if ya get me. this is all rather frustrating, i had to slap together cardboard box pc with the DFI nforce 4
  12. Im currently using an Acer AL2216w and LOVE it. i dont have any issues with it and if its too bright for you, nothing some graphics settings cant fix . oddly enough, right next to me i have a Samsung syncmaster 220wm that performs quite well too, but nothing i noticed that would make price on in worth it over the acer (this may be a moot point as it was purchased at bestbuy by a friend) although as stated earlier price for performance is acers long middle name, im probably picking up another soon here
  13. AHAHA dont know if anyone has seen ATHENE : best pally in the world. same people though, it makes that even less credible and tanya.. well i read (skimmed) through other posts and didnt see mention of athene if you havnt seen athene before, dont. your brain cells will thank you. ESP. you celtica, i dont know if you have fully kicked your wow habbit, but you just may want to start again to simply prove that he is not, the best pally in the world.
