  1. The patch has already been released yesterday. You can download it on their update page, or with windows update. Goldeneye
  2. My older computer which I am trying to get fully operational for my brother is giving me alot of problems lately. I left it siting there for a month not touvhing anything and now its not working 100%. The Mb is an Asus P4B266-C and for some reason none of the PCI slots are working. Is it possible for the PCI slots to be fried but the Mb still work? Like it tuns of and operates perfectly fine. But my network card and sound card are not being dectected by windows at all. The lights on the network are on so I think the PCI slots are ok but im not sure. I installed the Chipset drivers, and all but it won't detect anything. Thanks Goldeneye
  3. I just purchased a Linksys WRT54G router. I was wondering, with this router since it has SPI do I really need a software firewall on all my computers? Is the wondows firewall all that i need since I have a pretty good router? Thanks Goldeneye
  4. Thanks No I looked and its not listed in the Device manger. Im starting to think its the MB. Its an Asus P4B266-C MB and I never had this problem. I reormated it and left it sitting for a month when I go to hook it up to the network its not working. Goldeneye
  5. I was hooking up my old computer for my brother to the networkm but when I went to go set up the network for that computer Windows says it can't find the card. I thought the card was faulty so I took it out and put it in my Smoothwall machine and it detected it . So me thinks it has to do with either Windows or the MB. I just bought a new card tonight and same thing. I installed the drivers and when i went to network set up wizard Windows says it can't find the card?????. So I am at a loss to whats wrong. I never had this happen to me . Anything else that I should be chacking or something that I am missing? Thanks Goldeneye
  6. I will be replacing my old wireless Linksys router with a more current one, and I was reading alot about Smoothwall and would like to try it out. What I was wondering is how do I go about setting up a wireless conection with the Smoothwall OS? I have it installed on my old P2 266 Mgz computer. Do I go DSL modem to the Smoothwall box, than to the wireless Linksys router? Will this cause any conflicting problems? Thanks Goldeneye
  7. I have one and it has been the best case I have ever used. Tones of room and IMO just looks cool . I paied roughly $199 CDN for mine. Take a look at the Cooler Master forum and there is a thread dedicated to Stacker pics for all the Stacker owners there are about 39 pages right now and some have done an amazing job. Heres the link Cooler Master Forum Goldeneye
  8. I know that listening is the most important factor in determining what you will buy. believe me before I bought my system I listened to many many set ups before I made my decision. My current set up is a Paradigm Monitor set up, and my next upgrade will be to B&W 800 series speakers. The point that I was trying to make was that for his needs and budget, keeping in mind that he too wants to build a computer with it, that a HTIB would fit his budget well and that it will still sound good, but its up to him which one sounds best to him. He can get better by going witha reference system, but that would mean going over his budget. All that I was trying to imply was that HTIB do a pretty good job in HT, and that in order to get better he would have to spend much more than what he is intending to spend. Goldeneye
  9. I agree with Gravy HTIB (Home theater in a box) systems are really ment for people who are on a small busget and want simplicity and something that sounds good. I would say the most HTIB do a pretty good job. Can you get better? yes but now you are starting to get into the 4 - 5 digit price range and its more complicated interms of set up. I myslef have a 10K HT set up, and plan to do a few upgrades to it. Compared to a HTIB its set up is rather more complicated than just hook up and go. Does mine sound better than a HTIB? yes i can probably say that it out preforms any HTIB, but I am not saying that my system is the best because its not. You can still get better than what I have that would take my system tot the cleaners, but again you have to spend more tha 10K so you can see where this is going. I would say that for his budget and what he want a HTIB is perfect for his needs and it will sound very good once hes has it all up and running. Good luck Goldeneye
  10. I agree. Home theater is one of my big hobbies and THX is really something that you show not be worrying about. Its a certification rather than a decoding software. IMO its a waste of money because all it does it raise the price of the product. There are alot of good non THX certified gear out there and are they worse? no, the companies just don't want to spend the extra $$$$ to get the certification. I would just worry about getting all the latest Dolby Digital and DTS formats that are currently available rather than worrying about the THX gear. I would also recommend spending more money onthe speakers rather than the actual electronics because, speakers go much further interms of being future proof then the electonics them selfs. Goldeneye
  11. Thanks for the replies Ya I heard that the build quality on them wasn't the best and most reviews that I have read from other customers keep saying they only last a few month and they are gone. I ended up ordering a Sennheiser PC160SK Sk Gaming Stereo Headset from NCIX . Thanks again Goldeneye
  12. I am looking to get a pair of head sets and I am looking at the Plantronics .Audio90 . I have heard both good and bad about them. What are your thoughts on them are they a good pair of head sets for their price? Thanks Goldeneye
  13. Thanks for the reply I managed so far to get my CPU to 2.75 Ghz from 2.2 Ghz stock. I also managed to get my GT card to 1.20 Ghz and 451 Mhz from 1.0 Ghz and 400 Mhz stock. I ran the 3DMark 05 test and got a result of 7712. Is this a good result or should I be getting better? Thanks again Goldeneye
