Is there a way to set the fan on the X1900XTX up to 100% 24/7? There are options in ATItool, but from what I have read ATItool isn

Would it make since that a CPU could run stable at 290x9=2610 when it wouldnt run stable at 255x10=2550? Also, is ORTHOS a trust-worth judge of stability after 30min of runtime? Also, what's the max Volts, or the max temp I should trust the motherboard read-outs with stock cooling? Maxed out at 45C on CPU now.

Overclocking With Dfi

Got the memory up to DDR500 250fsb 1:1. It's running at the same settings as was posted I should try. It ran through the night on Memtest with no errors. This is probably where I will stop until I get my stuff in from Newegg. I don't really trust the temp read-outs and I would feel better if I had something other then stock on my components. This ATI card (X1900GT that I got from BB until my X1900XT comes in) is running 80C just after around 30-45minutes of Oblivion, I also have a cooler coming in for it as well. Thanks for all the help, if there are any other suggestions then lemme know. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - EDIT: Been having some issues with stability after 255x10=2550. Anything above that and I have to push the CPU Volts up from 1.325 to 1.45 to run ORTHOS stable. I -

If my CPU gets a STOPPED error while running ORTHOS should I up the Volts more? The reason why I'm asking is because once I lost stability I upped the Volts and it didn -

It looks like 250x10=2500 is the most stable point with stock volts. I raised the volts and couldn -

Well, my ambient temperature is around 24C and like I stated in the post before fully loaded is around 39C after at least 30minutes of full load. I’m using the Smart Guardian that DFI has with their package software. Also, I'm pretty good with judging temperatures, and even though I thought those numbers to be low as well I opened my case and everything seems somewhat warm but no where near hot enough to burn. For example, I felt the back of my video card and then I felt the base of the CPU heat sink and the video card was a lot hotter, and the temps for the video card was reported at 47C… so, I don’t know. Right now: CPU: 24C PWMIC: 33C CHIPSET: 39C Full load: CPU: 39C MAX PWMIC: 44C MAX CHOPSET: 47C MAX So, if I get a STOPPED error, that doesn’t necessarily mean my CPU isn’t stable? -

Looks like my CPU maxed out on its stock volts of 1.3 @ 2550mhz (255x10=2550 / 255x4=1020) 45minutes through and it stopped, ORTHOS failed it. Bumped up the volts a tad and running it again. What does it mean when ORTHOS says 'STOPPED' it would let me continue if I wanted, and for some reason whenever I run the CPU / MEM or just the MEM by itself it fails it, even at the stock setting it failed. With the volts bumped a bit and the overclock, my temps haven -

I set my memory to what you suggested and I'm able to boot and run tests at 220FSB (on the memory and CPU) now. My scores also increased as well. Seems to be stable at the moment, but we will see. Thanks for the information, really helped me out with this. I dunno what I'm going to shoot for now, probably going to be around 250x9=2250 / 4HTTx250=1000 and a 9/10 memory divider and set the memory to 230 (if I can pull it off). -
Looking around at Newegg.com right now, and I'm getting ready to purchace a X1900XT 512MB. Is there a big difference between all the different manufactures? Is there one that might OC better then the other or is it just the 'luck of the draw'. Figured that it would be nice if a couple people spoke up and said what brand they had and what they got with it. Looking at these two atm now... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102025 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814142063 (really like the $100 rebate)

Selling off my 6800GS, it's been a great card for the better part of 6-7 months now... but I'm getting something a bit better. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150118 I still have everything that it came with, even the box. I took good care of it now it's looking for another good home. Will part with it for $115.00US Shipped and all. PM me if interested.
