Sounds like your PSU is the culprit. I had a similar problem, then I got a new power supply, and no problems since.

Get the SI 97. I have it and it dropped my temps 15C! Why do people come to these boards, ask for advice, then do the exact opposite of what is recommended?

That would be your motherboard temperature. It will list it as CPU temp.

I tried this before, and it made no difference for me. I also tried stacking 2 fans on top of each other just to see what it would do. No change.... Now sticking fans on the side with the top fan blowing up.... now this I have to try just to see what it does.

I can't speak for the 2600, but I have a 2800 running at 2.505 ghz prime stable.

I had a stable overclock on my old Biostar m7ncd PRO motherboard of 2.4 ghz. As for the cooler, I have a THermalright SI-97 and it rawks!
