I'm going now on day 5... stuck on 70% for 3 days... I would just stop it but there is important data on it I try to recover. before I ran chkdsk windows couldn't read the hdd so this is my last change on recovering. perhaps you got another suggestion?

hi jdm_freek, I know this is a bit old... I was interested how long did the chkdsk ended up taking you? I ran chkdsk on a 3 TB external HDD and it's been going now on its 4th day!!! appreciate your reply!
