Probably using PCI SATA cards. 13 4TB drives would do it. Most motherboards have 6 or more SATA ports, so assuming 2 are used up for DVD/Blu-Ray drives and whatnot, you can get PCI cards with 4 SATA ports so you'd only need 2 of those and you'd easily be able to have 50TB of drives connected. Pair that with a decent PSU and you can get them running, I'm not sure about the BIOS/OS support for that type of configuration though...
