Fight Game Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 ok, I have 9 or 10 days before my 90 days are up on my eVGA card, in order to be able to do the "step-up" program. I was thinking of stepping all the way up to the 7800. What's the difference between these 2 cards, besides the software that is included? Can the cheaper one simply be software overclocked to the most expensive or modded, or what? 1. https://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/m...de=nvidia-PCI-E 2. https://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/m...de=nvidia-PCI-E As you can see, one is 399 and the other is 200 more. What do you get for 200, besides a game? ALSO _ CAN A GT BE HARD OR SOFT MODDED TO GTX???

Guest Shibby Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Anandtech recently did a review of the KO model compared to the standard model, and obviously it was slightly faster because of the factory o/c. However, they also said that they were able to attain a higher maximum overclock on the KO rather than the standard model. I'm not sure if this is because eVGA upped the cooling on the KO model or what. Check out the review, always take it with a grain of salt, and use that to help you make your decision between the 2 models. I didn't pay too much attention, but it didn't seem like the KO was $200 better to me. Check it out for yourself though.
