DFI NF3 RAM problems

Ok i had 2x256 TCCD. I just bought some BH-5 1GB kit. 1GB works up to 205mhz in slots 1 & 3. I have VIO mod as well. No matter what voltage (3.38-3.55v) Cannot go error free above 210. Using only one stick in slot1 i can reach 242mhz 2-2-2 memtest clean. 3.38v. My problem is whenever i use 1gb no matter which slots, i cannot get a satisfying OC/stable system.

I prefer to run 1t.

Please help

Also i seen this problem around but couldn't find any useful threads in search function.

Have you tried another bios like 504? Also try bank interleave disabled. Not as big a hit as 2T. Pretty much any memory I run wether it be BH-5, CH-5 or TCCD works best in slots 1 and 3. Also try swapping slots as soon as you start to get errors. One stick of my OCZ's runs best in slot one and the other in slot three. Switch em around and I lose 15-20mhz...

TCCD worked fine in my 754 with 2 sticks but my BH-5(UTT) won't run with 2 sticks in anything except 2.5-3-3-8 @ 200.

And I have four sticks that all do 250mhz 2-2-2-5-7-12 by themselves.

Seems the 754 system doesn't like BH-5, it takes a strong system to run 2 sticks of it.

My NF4 will do 2 sticks at 2-2-2-5@[email protected], 4 sticks at 2-2-2-5@[email protected] on my Venice cpu, but my Sempron 939 won't run 2 sticks without error.

My TCCD will work in any of my systems, but the BH is a bit more picky..

Edit : I should mention that I haven't tested the BH in the 754 for a while and it's had a bit of burn-in so maybe things "might" have changed. Sempron issue is recent though..

Hey i cleared BIOs last night for about 10minutes and started again just changing the HTT and timings, keeping it in 1:1 mode.

I was able to boot into windows with 240*8, 2-2-2-8 240mhz. Memtesing right now at 250mhz 3.45v brings about 1,760,XXX 100+ passes of test 5. I got up in the morning and saw that it had reduced to about 1000 errors per pass. So i think there is some bugs within the DFI BIOS. 623 is only BIOS that reads Sempron 64. I will give 504 another try when i get back from school.

I used TicTacs 504 with my sempron 3100+ OCDB entry...no problemos

Guest Blooz1

I also use slots 1 + 3 on my 250Gb when using multiple sticks of ram.

The TicTac 5-4 bios has worked very well for me, no matter what type of ram I'm running. I've used it with TCCD, VX, BH-5, and CH-5.

Ok i notice that one stick craps out around 248mhz 2-2-2-8, 1T, interleave enabled, slot 1. Right now im on the other one and Memtest is clean test #5 about 15 passes at settings: 2-2-2-8-1T 260mhz, 3.5v Interleave. ALso what tref is optimal. I've tried 2560, 3120, 3070, 4708 all seem to worse results than 2560/3020(70?)

I don't get it, all thesde ppl running 1GB fine at 250+ on their systems, and i cant even clear 205mhz.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

I go try find a tref table and play around with tref

PS can any of you host Tictac's 504 BIOS? I can't find tictac's old site where i use to get the NF7 BIOS from.

well I did 220 but wouldn't boot up the first time but did the second time. Went to 225 and the same again. It will boot up the second time! Thats a %12.5 increase. I'm running prime 95 and s&m to see how she does. I'm getting happy. Oh I did set my v up to 2.7 I think.
