I wish I could be more specific on some of this.

One of the reasons I use the Automotive Screens is it's so dard easy to grap 12v to power the screen up.

Laptop screens and PS screens can require a lot of work to find the correct parts of the Power Supply to connect (most laptop screens use 5v instead of 12v), and then you'll still need to find some way to intervace the Video input.

Here are some links that may prove useful to you.

Google "Powering your LCD" will brink up a kazillion links.

It may be more cost effective to build your own LCD Power Supply than trying to figue out an old latop or PS. I think Maxim and TI are the big players in the ICs for this project.

nice tut bump just wish there was a guide for using a old laptop lcd instead since i have an old dell laptop lying round here

MaximumPC's July article had a issue on using Laptop screens as real estate...and ZoneOS wll do it over the network...may look into that...not really the same as modding the panel into the case but it makes it still usable...
