shira Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 I was just reading a small thread on Bleeding Edge. http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12147 Several people, including our own Thunda, have been having issues with overclocks based on DFI boards, TCCx memory, and Althlon 64 90nm CPUs remaining stable over time. In other words, after initially achieving an overclock that remained stable for a month or two, the system would eventually become unstable. This was reported for Venice, San Diego, and even a Toledo CPU. Many/most of the systems were using quality components. So I'm wondering, is this something that many people are seeing? Mastakilla Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 i had a similar experience problem for me was that after a few months, stock speed wasnt stable anymore i first thought it was my winchester that got broke, but when i tried my new venice cpu it had the exact same problem im thinking very hard now about RMA'ing the mobo... more details about my prob u can find here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=70702
daglesj Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 There are many factors but I would put my money on power component degregdation in the mobo. Plenty of caps etc. to deteriorate there. But you never can tell.
