Oclock Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 hey what exactly does thermal throttling do in the advanced chipset features part of the bios. mines set to 50% but i have no idea what it does. does it have to do with my gpu, if so i want to do overclocking so turn it on or off. StephenC Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 It regulates the thermal enviroment of the CPU In short, if your cpu get's too hot then it will semi shutdown. From the nf4 manual "Thermal throttling regulates the thermal environment by alternating between running the processor at full speed and placing the processor in a sleep state whenever the upper limits of the thermal envelop are reached."
