Finally hit 250! :D

Recommended Posts

I know, I know, I'm reeeeaally late to the game on this one, but it made me happy nonetheless. I was about as excited with this fsb push as I was the first time I hit 200fsb with my 8K3A and a single 256mb stick of Samsung TCB3

edit- whoops, forgot to say, that unlike the screenshot from last night, ram has been moved back to 2-2-2-6. GRRRR I'll fix that pic too, hang on.

Well done BigDov! Can't make it out in your pic though :(

Thanks Shinobi :)

I have my desktop set at 1600x1200 and had to resize so small for the forum uploader, it looks teeny now..... :( I might remote link to another host though.

I can't really read the txt in sandra though.

I thin kit says 38xx and 35xx for sandra's mem bench.

Anyways congrates :), wonna race ? :), joking.

I'm at 270 in dual chan right now, but not passing prime.

I passed memtest#5 20 times in a row last nigh though at it (seems to be my alpha timings ^^, maybe have a somewhat working 270 soon).

It's the same prob I have at 266 so, if I figuer out what alpha timing it is, and also get this stable, with say only 1 or 2 extra on the alpha's then it'll probably be my new timings :).

Reaching for 278 now lol, would be 280 if I could handle the cpu heat...

I actually think i may be possible.

Allmost through the 1st run prime(I should of set it up so it does 4 tests of each test in a row like I normally do : ).

Anyways goodluck on the prime dude, you're gonna need it.

It's not that easy sometimes really, I reccomend doing other things on the pc while you prime.

That way you know you can do allmost everything you normally do and prime wiill continue to run.

If it's failing because you are running stuff, then keep trying you know, you really want to beable to run progs and prime at the same time, if yo don't, and only get prime stable without testing other progs at the same time(gaming to, it's not an issue to game while priming), then if a program fails once in a while you were only half stable but were able to get s screen off showing to peeps that you are 100% stable.

It'll only piss you of if you have problems later, that why I reccomend it :).

So game while priming, watch dvd's while priming, all helps.

You don' need to do anythign heavy like capturing video, but gaming and watching vido is a good thing while you prime, so is dl'ing while doing all this(at least when watching video you 'aught to dl too in the background, either newsgroups, or p2p(irc,emule,kazaa, etc etc), getright, whatever, just get an all day schedule going for dl'ing while you do all this.

The reason is that dl'ing while watching dvd(mpeg2) for some reason will stress the modem and sometihng else to about it's max pretty quickly.

Within a halfhour I'd say maybe, maybe an extra hour.

Just keep doing it whiel priming, playing gtasa helped me out too, I'm sure other games could be used too, like ut, doom3, farcry, etc.

GTA3 and vc won't do much, but it does'nt hurt to play a 4 hr session of vc while you prime one time, I reccomend playing 2 hrs straight, watching a whole dvd, etc.

You could walk away while it's watching a dvd or xvid(helps too, maybe more, but still, I use both).

Anyways I told you why I do this, I will say it one more time just to make sure ;).

Doing all this while you prime, and if you manage not to fail after doing stuff like that, like you're using it remember ;), then I would really call it 100% stable :).

It helps speed up the breakin preoccess anyways ;).

Goodluck on the priming ;).

Not bad dude :), plus much better pic.

Btw, one thing, I had to turn on my spoofer to see the jpg, otherwise the site said forbiddon.

I dn why, but I had to spoof or block something.

I block most things, and the referer is what I request at the time, for instance the jpg on that one so..

If that helps I dn...

oh yeah, and try 1.65v instead of what it looks like you're using 1.75v (then again maybe I should of looked at the mbm5 in that other shot, or somehting I dn).

If it's 1.75 it's to high for that speed, the original barton athlonxp's are 1.65v(mobiles are less of course).

Yup 38xx and 35xx.... when I went back to 2-2-2-6, it was still 38xx and 35xx, only about 20 points higher than at 2.5-2-2-6.

Oh yeah, alpha timings.... I should probably start some tweaking there too once I get myself all stable.

Very interesting advice you give- I was probably doing TOO much today when I started prime. I had prime running, I was vpn'd to work, email, 5 tabs opened in my browser, a spreadsheet, 3 pdf's and wmp going to boot. I killed it! But I'll keep trying until I pass though. And I've got mine set up like you do- 4 tests in a row.

To much is good too ;).

Then you know something you can't do yet, try other things for a while then go back and see if it starts working :).

But that's for stuff like I was saying, for instance gtasa would'nt play at all on my pc at 1st with not enough mem voltage.

After I burned in a while it started playing.

Same goes for the dvd playback I was talking about, after a while no more bsod's from the modem driver(every single conexant driver I have does and pctel), so maybe ethernet will too.

Just odd things like that, fatel ones suck because you have to restart and take it easy until you can resume.

Scandisk crap.

When you find something that exits out or anything, keep hammering it unless it won't start(try a few times anyways).

After a while you may get past that spot it gets stuck on.

What I normally do is if I get stuck in a game, I'll try watching videos for a while.

Then I'll try the game again.

After a while of this while priming, things just start getting better.

All the sudden you got the 8hrs worth of prime.

Then later you eventually get it so you get use less vmem and less nb voltage, even less cpu voltage.

These all are done the same way too.

Step the voltage down one step, prime until stable.

Then repeat until it looks hopeless and you don't want to work on it anymore (you should at least get a few steps out from all diffrent voltage settings put together).

Or you could quit when you got say 1.6v nb and 2.7v mem working with 1.45v cpu at 3ghz lol.

The voltages for the mem and chipset maybe but the cpu I dn, maybe with some nice cooling.

Whatever, you probably get the idea :).

You are doing it right allready ;).
