Peanut Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Everyone seems to be using XP. I am using win2k. When I install my os, it fails to detect my HDD as 250Gb but only 130gb. I can install my os on 130gb. How do I recover the remaining 120ish hdd space lost?

mack73 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 How was the drive partitioned when windows was installed? Is the drive new? Did you use an exisisting partition or delete and add a new one?
cpuz Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Windows 2000 support for 48 bit LBA requires installing Service Pack 2 or higher, and then it needs enabled in the registry. This will enable support for drives larger than 137 Gigabyte. see if this link helps. Here's a good site here

Either spit the drive into multiple partitions or install at least SP2.
