blaza Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Post here your settings as mentioned below. This thread is for comparing invidual top performances on certain set of components reached. It's IMPORTANT that you post your hardware & settings JUST LIKE DESCRIBED on the example below! The right replying form makes the browsing as "clear" as possible. Screenshot is accepted too IF it reveals all the "required" information. blaza Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Hello, You never said if you want any screenshots, like Everest home edition? 1 desktop screenshot with open analysis programs is accepted, but it must reveal all the information that is "required". THunDA Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Nah. Looks like he wants to get into a who benched the best contest. No, its far from what you think.. Its to show that what you post is actually stable.. And we keep very strict rules in there this way when you compare oc's or settings they are all stable with the same benchmarks and stress tests.. If you browsed that forum at all before making a assumption that its all about who gets the highest clocks you'd see this in the rules stickied to the top.. The point of this section is to give DFI users a place to do specific searches of specific parts and settings. Example...if I have a Database post with my 3500+ Newcastle CAAZC 0440 and SLI-DR, and OCZ5331024ELDCPE-K 2x512MB memory (4200EL Platinum Edition) and someone else has that exact same memory and cpu, (or even just a 3500+ cpu and that exact memory) then they can use the search function and find my post and any other post with whatever hardware/settings they search for and see a stable overclock. The goal isn't to be the best and have the fastest overclock on earth (tho you can shoot for that if you like!). The goal is to achieve a stable overclock that you are happy with, and then present your exact settings and hardware to the database so other forumers with DFI boards can seek out exactly how you did it. Note: we all know that everyone's results may vary...this is a database for reference. Just because one guy gets a certain result with his hardware does NOT mean that another will, even with the exact same hardware. blaza.. This is a good idea but thats what the OC database is there for.. Please dont take any offence to this but the OC database is already there and is much more detailed when it comes to listing all your memory timings and stuff.. I mean there are so many more bios settings one would need to know to achieve a similar clock that someone posts here it would be impossible to keep it on topic.. Angry_Games Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 overclocking and throwing up 'suicide' screenshots like they do at other forums is pretty much frowned upon here because we have taught users that stability is the key, not just showing a 37,090 3dmark01 screenshot (and the machine crashes the instant you save the screenshot). Stability on an overclock is the key. Benches are good for bragging, but if you cannot show stability then they really don't mean anything (its like being able to do 350mph in your car...thats fantastic but if your car wasn't made for 350mph most likely you gonna crash and burn into a tree or the wheels will fall off etc...) thats what the Overclocking Database is for....stability on your highest overclocks. And I have targeted this post for DFI nF4 AMD boards with OC + stable & highest settings achieved.
