OCZ VX Memtest

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I plug 1 stick into the orange slot, memtest, and do the next stick, and then do both.

Then I install OS. Overclock and burn in for a good 24 hours.

Sounds good?

Well I know that a burnin is like 2-2-2-5 @ 250 @ 3.3V...

What about the initial memtest with 1 stick at a time? What's a good setting (VX4000)?

Snook, any reason on using the orange slots?? I´ve heard that all bioses ending in -2 are optimized for yellow slots and the ones ending on -3 are for the orange ones....

Question on the burn in: (I have ocz pc4000 gold vx)

1. All setting aside from the 2-2-2-5 are put to auto in the dram section?

2. FSB ratio is moved from stock 200 up using multi of 10 until you error in memtest?

3. How do I get my voltage above 3.2 (highest it will go in genie bios)

4. I have seen with high voltage we should use yellow slots not orange?

5. I have seen on the ocz support forum that 310 appears to work better than 623-3, however cpu is performing better on new bios, any issue with the ram?

I remember reading somewhere that the orange slots perform much better than the yellow ones..

I bought 2 x 512mb pc3200 OCZ VX, one of the sticks died after less than 24 hours at 2.6volts, while I have the other running at 1.5-2-2-7 at 255mhz at 3.4v. Memtest gets 10 errors a pass at 257mhz at 3.5v, and I haven't pushed it any further yet.

Hi,

Well I put them in the orange to start with to get up and running an to do a bios update.

And I thought I may as well see how far I can get in the orange slots. They took the RAM all the way to their rated levels so why change??

I don’t want anymore of an OC (5 mhz more would be nice to get to FX57 levels ;) ) but I’m not too fussed. I'm rock solid stable (Prime etc) so if it aint broke…
