Addiarmadar Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Eventually I'll be doing some real OCing but right not my PC3500 ram is limiting my options. Would like to get some PC 4800 (DDR600) Ram and wanted to know which ones actually work on this mobo. Thanks.
dmo580 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Geil One TCCDs. They're like UBER expensive, and are just coming out. I've seen screens of DDR660 on XS. They're rated 600 though =)

Addiarmadar Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Is this OCZ RAM compatible? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227208

Fire-N-Ice Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 that looks like some very nice stuff. Hey redrum, have you tried OC'ing it yet? If so how far?
Redrum Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 As I understand these are TCC5 and already binned. And being as I'm at the HTT edge of this Venice already I can boot at 313 with these timings but its not stable. Running stable right now at 305x9. Memory was just put in 2 days ago. I'm still burning it in. It likes 2.6 Volts in Memtest to reduce errors so it runs pretty cool. I'm not sure if I should try 510-2 variant bios or not. Running 510-1 now. Fire-N-Ice Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I would go to the 6/23 official bios, my preference. If the venice is topping out, then use the 8x multi and up the HTT! btw, what does "binned" mean?
Angry_Games Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Rgone just got some PDP PC5600 (DDR700) 2x512's today...I wonder how good they are doing....
Angry_Games Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I would go to the 6/23 official bios, my preference. If the venice is topping out, then use the 8x multi and up the HTT!btw, what does "binned" mean? binned means that they are tested to run at certain speeds @ certain voltages @ certain timings. take TCCD PC3200 for example it is 'binned' to do 2-2-5-2 @ PC3200, 2.6v but it might do 2.5-4-8-3 @ DDR600, 3.0v but it is binned at the 2-2-5-2, and therefore only warrantied/guaranteed to do 'binned' speeds. then take OCZ's VX4000 for example. It is binned to do DDR500 @ 2.6v @ 2.5-3-7-3 if it will not do DDR500 @ those settings, then it can be returned/rma'd as it was 'binned' to do those timings/voltages/speeds. Redrum Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I just turned down the multiplier to 8 and loosened the timings to 10-5-5-3 and ran HTTs to 325 and it booted and ran SuperPi just fine. At 330 it froze up on me. So I guess the limit is between DDR 650 and DDR 660 somewhere. I like the combo I'm running right now. 305x9 = 2745 Mhz. Not bad for a cheap CPU, LOL!! I booted at 313x9 into windows but wasn't stable and I don't feel like adding any more voltage to it. It runs and feels like a stock machine. And its super quiet cause the loudest fan in there is 21 DBA. 70 degree ambiant room temp it runs at idle 27 and full load 38C. I can't ask for more. Except to upgrade the video card soon..
