Kaido Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Finally I decided to go for a new ram. I’m just tired with this hynix crap that I have at the moment. So before I buy anything I just want to make sure that this ram doesn’t have any problems with DFI nF4 SLI-D motherboard. The ram I was thinking of (there isn’t much different ram to choose from where I live): DDRAM 512MB DIMM 400MHz PC3200XL CL2.0 DDR Corsair (2-2-2-5) XMS3208v1.2 0527140-0. It should be Samsung TCCD (not 100% sure). So anyone who knows anything about how this ram works on DFI nF4 motherboard and how well it would OC (I’m not looking for extreme OC) please post. Thanks
RGone Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Literally hundreds of posts in here> pointing away from Corsair memory in general and you want us to tell you that some model of Corsair will have an 'excellent' chance to work? Man oh man! RGone...

No, there are many others, if you look carefully through this forum you will find many. It's just that Corsair RAM is known well to not be great with overclocking with the DFI Nforce 4 series motherboards.
Kaido Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I guess I have to wait then and go for some good OCZ memory when I have the money. Haven’t seen any user that has problems with OCZ memory…
Grumpy Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Be greatful. I didn't find this board until after I had bought my setup. This RAM is seriously hurting my OC. My CPU can do much better with RAM that plays well with DFI.
Guest nova Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 From my personal experience, I have found Mushkin does very well with the newer DFI boards. In fact I have some Mushkin Green in an old NF2 board that I stuck in my sli-dr and with everything in auto it performed better (benchmarks anyway) than my OCZ Platinum that I'd been teaking on for weeks,.... go figure???? sonnenkind Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 @ivanvt: Then you be 1 out of 50(?) who had luck. I've sent in my pair of 4400C25 and they lost it somewhere at US customs - a blessing in disguise, since I can now buy cheap and good 2-2-2-5 OCZ Gold BH5 from the insurance.
