bernardos70 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 This is very puzzling. First I was having problems after I installed a Corsair Twinx XMS3200c2PRO set of 2GB. Now even my Mushkin RAM is giving me this error: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT This is very strange, and sporadic. The system will hardlock. I have read (and followed) numerous settings to no avail. I have plugged all 4 power plugs into the board. Upped the voltage on the RAM. Loosened the timings to well below what the RAM stick was rated at. I have flashed to 510_2, to the official latest driver. I have cleared the CMOS each time. I have updated drivers left and right. Rolled back drivers. I've been fighting this for over two weeks. This happens mostly on BF2. I've RMA'd the very expensive corsair RAM I had, paid 15% restocking fee for it thinking it was it. Not so! Now the other RAM is giving me this error. This is not the first rig I've built, so I know what I'm doing, but this thing has me stumped! Any help at all is appreciated. Full specs: Antec Neopower 480Watt PSU DFI Lanparty Ultra-D Mushkin Level 2 PC3500 RAM (2x512MB) BFG Geforce 6800GT OC Audigy2 ZS Athlon64 3500+ WD 120GB HDD Maxtor 250GB HDD Lite-on DVD-+RW (2 of them) Nothing is overclocked, I installed windows from scratch once I got this board. I wish I had read this board before I got this board. I know a lot of you got them to work OK and you're probably thinking "n00b," I can't tell for sure if I wouldn't have that same reaction, because I have never had such a problem with any other board before. Serves me right for not doing research EDIT: Not two weeks, more like 6 weeks. Any help is still appreciated.

bernardos70 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Hello Safrout. My PSU has a 24-pin motherboard plug. I'd just like to point out that if I can narrow these problems down to the motherboard, I'll be very mad. The amount of money I have spent to acomodate this board is ridiculous. I had a perfectly fine antec trublue with 480watts of power, but a 20-pin motherboard plug. I also RMA'd RAM that I'm going to lose 41 dollars on due to restocking fees. The PSU, at the end of the day, is fine since this will accomodate any new boards, but the 41 dollars I'm losing in return for nothing I will not be happy with. You should set CPC disabled (in other words 2T) and probably should try it at 333mhz divider. See if that helps. This is based on the 2GB, I'm assuming 2x1024 or 4x512MB. -Freez
bernardos70 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I have tried those settings along with even cas 3 CPC to disabled. I am back to 1GB of mushkin which worked fine, now it isn't any more. Isn't the mushkin RAM, rated at PC3500, more than adequate to run at PC3200 speeds? BTW, I am currently running 1GB of mushkin RAM (2x512). Thanks for the quick replies guys, keep them coming. bernardos70 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Well, it pretty much looks like I am going to be switching boards. I reflashed to the latest BIOS again and everything became painfully slow. Bye DFI. Feel free to flame.
kukulcan Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I had the same error as you (PFN_LIST_CORRUPT) when installing windows initially. Flashing to the latest bios and simply running all the defaults sorted this for me.
