Angry_Games Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 honestly can't say since i just ordered my first ever LCD last night from newegg, the Samsung 915N 19" LCD @ 8ms what you should try to figure out is how much workspace you really need... do you need to have two monitors to do multiple tasks on each one? or will one big one be enough? also keep in mind that SLI does not support dual monitors, so if you were looking to use SLI ever a single monitor is the best bet. then judge the price....is a single big monitor the same or better price than two monitors? Then also judge how much space you have to work with in your work area....I'd love to have 2 19" monitors, but I just dont have the desk space for such a thing, not even LCD's. this message was brought to you by the "Angry Council of Strategic Thinking" heh
wodan Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I have a 2005. I don't see THAT much usage in dual monitors and I had dual monitors for a while. Get the 2405 with native 1080p HDTV support
Trevor Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Get the 2405 with native 1080p HDTV support WOOT! and watch these 1080p trailers
Guest Tyler Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I second the 2405FPW. Ive had the 2005FPW too, and the 2405FPW is a better LCD overall, and has more options. I would rather have it, than two 2005FPW's. The only exception for me is, if you would actually use (as apposed to use) the second monitor, not just have winamp or something running on it. Voodoo Rufus Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I've read good things about both, but personally, I'd rather have one big freakin' monitor, and 1080p is too good to pass up. 2405FPW.
CPU Killer Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I just got the 2405 last week, And i still can't believe how frickin nice it is. I replaced my 2x 20.1" dell monitors with this monster (sli no worky with dual monitors). pr0n never looked so good!!!
PC1X1 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I would take two monitors, but my type of work, I need various apps open etc, so I need to 2+ monitors, at least I like to believe so . CPU wanna pawn those monitors off ?
Kilamon Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I never cared for the way that having two monitors always required having a bezel in between so I would definately go for the 2405fpw. I've read a lot of reviews about it and they are all pretty good except for the tom's hardware review, but they're dillweeds anyways since their reviewer couldn't read the DFI manual (I guess moron wasn't a language that could be included). Of course, in a perfect world, I'd get a Lieberman. BTW if you look around, I think you can find a coupon or something from Dell to drop the price down further. I recall seeing where someone had a 30% off code and Dell always does a sale for every holiday (father's day, mother's day, etc) so if you're patient, you could save some cash. Guest Joalaielna Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I was thinking about having 40"s of Screen compared to 24"s and thats what i am debating. Also there looks to be like a real good deal at the egg (see here!) what do you think of these 19" fiji screens, (x2 maybe?) I would really like the 2405 but i was also thinking that a 27" widescreen LCD tv would be nice. I don't know what to do. Thanks for all the input. Surrept Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I used two monitors at one point and didn't find it all that usefull, somehow the second desktop on my AIW just got in the way. Haveing to switch modes when ever i wanted to play a game wasn't worth the extra space that didnt get used much anyways. For non-gameing if i had anything of importance for the second screen, dual would work. recently i've started useing resolutions larger then the monitor to keep system info off to the side while browsing
red930 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Dual monitor setups are nice if you can get past the bezel right down the middle. The Samsung 191T was just about perfect for a dual display setup. The bezel is less than 3/8ths of an inch wide. Made for a great desktop when I needed it. Now I'm back to a single display. Don't really miss the dual display that often.
