Kevinfred Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 After weeks of 'trouble shooting' a crashing system (one symptom of 3d apps REALLY making the PSU hum) I moved the PCIe 6800GT to the 2nd PCIe slot and all is well - whiny hums from the PSU and no crashes... does this mean the first slot is bad? should I return the MB for warranty repair? thanks all! Sharp Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Hello, Did you plug all the power connectors into the board? Floppy one under the CPU socket + hard drive one on top the chipset fan. And if you gfx card requires a power connector you must plug one in. Was it in the way of the chipset fan?
