SiGNAL748 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Could someone with an xp90 and an sli-dr please take pictures of the area around the ram. I want to get one of these http://www.evercool.com.tw/products/neon_crab.htm But from what I understand, the xp90 has quite a wingspan. I'm wondering if I could use that ram cooler in conjunction with an xp90 without any clearance problems. If i'm not mistaken, this is a DFI board, with stock cooling. Think it'll fit with the xp90? If it won't fit, could you guys suggest an alternative way to cool ram? This will all be going in a Lian Li PC-V1000. So everything will be upside down. Angry_Games Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 nope not unless you turn the XP-90 around which is not recommended, and even then I think the heatpipes will still be in the way. The XP-90 should cool your memory just fine since it will hang over the orange slots on the 939 AGP board (you can still get memory in and out, but its a tight fit, but not impossible even with the thick OCZ modules)
SiGNAL748 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 So an xp90 with the fins hanging over the ram can be considered "active cooling"? The PC-V1000 also has a 120mm fan exhausting right next to where the CPU and RAM is, I'm sure that helps out a lot right? Angry_Games Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 yep, almost all of my cases have a 120mm fan blowing out the back right at the cpu like the PC-V1000. having the 120mm fan on the front draw air in and out that back 120mm is great. but you might want to read the rules and the important stickies and make a signature so we have a clue what exactly you have in your rig and can give you better advice
