ReMoose Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Ok so im building a new rig all the parts show up in a few days but i still havent picked out a case for it. I want to get it up and running so i can make sure all is well but as stated i dont have a case. What materials are acceptable to set a motherboard on. I was thinking cardboard or a piece of smooth wood with some type of covering like an antistatic bag. Any suggestions?
PC1X1 Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Foam + Antistatic bag and your set bro, thats What I use when I am building outside and haven't had a problem, I think it works well but I am prone to new ideas.

e_lion_1 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 The cardboard covered with an antistatic bag should work just fine. I've done it myself and had no problems. Of course, take this with a grain of salt. I've assembled computers on my lap while on carpet and had no problems (this way is not recommended). You might consider modding some tupperware to put it in...

red930 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Got a nice piece of clean wood lying around? I bought a 1/2" thick alderwood slab just for that purpose.
