Hi there i am new to the forums and new to dfi boards just not having very much luck at the moment, heres the story

i bought this board from ebay about a month ago after my asus board died, the board was used but had just come back from RMA and was still sealed the guy i bought it from said that they had just replaced the bios as it was faulty....

i received the board and installed my components and powered up all i got was everything turned on but no video and no post, the status leds had stopped on number 4 lit and it just sat there, i tried resetting the bios the DFI way and i tested the board on my bench with just the RAM CPU and video....

and still the same happened i tried swapping the Gfx card for a pci and still nothing, so i decided to RMA it back to the store where it was originally bought (overclockersuk) they sent the board back to me with a report saying that the board is fine and they tested it with a P4 3.2 prescott and some Corsair RAM,

well i still get the same results any ideas peeps

Edit

i forgot to mention i have tested all my components on another system and the all work

well i have just tried the board with some gail ram and all i get is the LED's status goes through its thing till just number 4 is lit which is bios checksum and thats it

i press reset on the boardand it just goes straight to all 4 lights lit

i dont think they bothered testing this board at all at overclockers i think they are lying to me

This is a test of the newb broadcasting system. If anything with in this post looks like good advice, it is purley coincidental. Once again this a test:

Allthough i sure this wont work, disconnect the 4 led gadget from your mobo and try again. I never hooked it up to mine, and have never had any probs like you and many others have described.

nope still no go i reckon it must be the bios or board

looks as though i am gonna have to RMA the board and ask for a complete replacement as judging by the fact that DFI have had the board once already something on the board is screwing the bios everytime

  • 2 months later...

That's a great solution Wetchaser I never would a thought of that one. If you get an error LED just remove it the LED and the error goes away.

Don't forget about that little piezo buzzer too, if it's beeping I bet that if you remove it too will stop beeping.....LOL

I'm just playing, I know what you meant. When you read your post from a different perspective it's quite funny. ;)
