MacDadyDylan Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Well I flashed bioses, and it booted fine several times (thats why I dont think it was a bios issue) then I tried to go into MemTest and it gave me a weird error and restarted. Since then all 4 Red LEDs come on and the system wont go into the Lanparty start up screen. Any suggestions on what to do?

THunDA Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Ok.. which bios did you flash to ??? This is the correct way to flash the bios.. well at least the way I do it with no issues everytime.. - Format a floppy with system files and place awdflash and the .bin file on it - Load optimized defaults in bios ( NEVER FLASH WHEN OC'd ) - Set your first boot device to floppy and saveexit bios - Once it boots to the floppy and your at the a: prompt type this without the quotes.. where it says biosfilename put what ever the bios files name is.. "awdflash biosfilename.bin /sn /py /cc /cd /cp /ld /f /r" - It will automatically reboot after the flash - When you see the post screen come up press delete to enter bios - Load optimized defaults and saveexit bios - When you see the post screen power off your rig by holding the power button - Unplug your psu and press the power button to discharge any power left in the system - Move the cmos jumper to clear and remove the cmos battery.. Leave it like that for 10-15min's - Move the jumper back to the normal position and replace the cmos battery - Put the power plug back in and press the power button to power your rig on - When you see the post screen press delete to go into bios.. - Load optimized defaults and saveexit bios Now when it reboot you can enter bios and set it up like you want.. Yeah thats what happened. (I switched to 5/10) The problem is a few boots later it wont boot anymore. It had the 4 red LEDs. I took a look at my cpu and there is nothing visually wrong with it. I reseated it and still no luck. Could the board have somehow been screwed up

red930 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Yeah thats what happened. (I switched to 5/10) Did you follow THunDA's suggestion exactly,as far the proper way to clear cmos?,maybe a longer clear cmos would help?
