Onsightsmith Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I searched the forum but all I found was stuff on other mobos. My PWMIC (whatever the heck it is) is the only thing that gets hot now, and I would like to know where it is on my mobo so I can cool it down somehow..... HS / fan or both Pics would be great! Thanx

chennhui Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I saw it once. For NF4, it should be next to the LED located around the mosfet area. I added a Delta fan on top of my RAM. This has lower my PWMIC temp from 54c to 40c.

Onsightsmith Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Thanks guys, the link by krnxpride83 shows exactly what chip needs to be cooled. I see and old heatsink giving itself to the pwmic cause tommorrow!
Try-this Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 the answer lies within.. http://www.overclock.net/showthread.php?t=...highlight=pwmic Thanks a lot man, mine is getting rather hot, above 50ºC :eek2: I just offered an old heatsink to make a piece that fits, time to mount! EDIT: mounted and lowered my temp from 55ºC to 50ºC during prime95, thanks again man!
mack73 Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I put a small fan on the heatsinks and my temps dropped 12c. I was seeing as high as 58c, now it won't go higher than 46c
dracos Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 HMM... Mine hits 63c with two instances of prime running... I guess that is high... idle is in the 50's.... guess I should do something about that then....
mack73 Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 What I did was get one of those little 1.5" fans and then take two molleys (however you spell it, the little plastic things that you put in drywall to hange a picture with) then pushed two molleys between the heatsink blades and screwed the fan on (only used two screws, but more than enough) Works like a champ
TorreyIsLDS Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Mine loads at 61 and idles at around 55, and I could care less about it. My system's rock stable, so until it starts randomly rebooting, I won't needlessly stress myself out about it. Some of you guys should adopt my philosophy. NickS Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Mine never really gets above 40 and mine aren't sinked, AND my CPU is overclocked to 2.2GHz, 1.55v. Odd. My 120MM Exhaust fan is RIGHT THERE above it tho as my case is so small.
