can get past 230 FSB on venice. !!!

i cant get past 230 FSB for stabiliy.. 235 onwards and upping of vcore to 1.500 crashes out and doesnt load windows. I have the new week 20's 3000+ venice CPU

where can i go from here?

 

i have my FSB @ 230

LDT @ x4

Multiplier @ x9

Vcore @ 1.475

DRAM voltage @ 2.9

it is the most stable overclock i can get at the moment

Don't know what bios your using,not in sig,5/10 and newer support Venice,6/23 is official

 

How much ram?,2x512,4x512,2x1GB

Put your serial ATA on SATA 3 and tell me if it works. i just did that and mine seems to work now.

its your ram man....you can't get more then 230 at the 2.9 volts man

you need more volts... try 3.3 volts

 

i'm at 230 right now with 3volts....the ram doesn't like 3.1 3.2 volts from the 3.3v rail but it loves from the 5v rail cause its more steady....

 

edith make sure you have a fan on the ram....could be heat related

Thanks for posting this thread. I was having the exact same problem and couldn't figure it out using THunDA's thread.

 

Changing my DRAM to 3.2V has me up to 280x9 now.

 

Is running the RAM at 3.2V dangerous? (more dangerous than usual I mean, I know OCing period has it's risks.)
