Ziggy54354 Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 I have my computer at around 37-40C full load at 1.775v. If i was able to knock off like 5C would it be stable at a lower vcore? Im considering moving into my basement if this does work.
Overclocker16 Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 Usually lowering it will make it unstable because there isn't enough power getting to the chip.
smeghead009 Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 Acctually it the other way around upping your Vcore will affect the temperature, when your overclocking bumping up your Vcore makes the chip run more stable at higher speeds, what kind of chip are you running ? syneze Posted July 17, 2003 Posted July 17, 2003 I think ziggy is asking if his CPU is more stable at lower temps regardless of vcore. Like if he's running 1.775 at 40 degrees, will it be more stable w/ the same voltage at 5 degrees lower. If it is then he could lower his voltage and keep the same settings. I don't think this is the case Ziggy (at least not in the temperature range you're providing), but the good news is since you have another 5 degrees of headroom, you can increase your vcore more to obtain a higher OC
