I thought the 704-2 bios caused the CPU to overvolt?

OczTony modded the 704-2 and is now the 704-2BT and it works very well. Of course it is beta for sure

Its a modded version that has the bad vid specials taken out.. But its not available to DL.. Its just being tested I believe..

hey thunda,

Can you explain this:

CPU VID StartUp Value - 1.55v

CPU VID Control - 1.325v

CPU VID Special Control - Avove VID * 126%

Does this mean you start up at 1.55V on your cpu and eventually go to 1.6695V ?

IIRC- CPU VID Startup is the voltage the CPU gets during POST/In BIOS

Then once Windows boots, it adjust to the CPU VID Control + CPU Vid Special Control

What mack73 said.. :)

Currently I'm running at 2.75ghz on the 3/10 bios with my PC4000VX ram, though I'de liek to go higher. I can bench everything, as many times as I would like, but prime errors out within the forst 10 minutes. I can leave OCCT on forever and its fine. Anyways, these are the settings I'm running right now. If anyhone has ideas on how to get more out of this, any help would be valued. As with a bios, there is no best. All you can really do is try them all and see which one gives you the most for your rig.

Genie BIOS Settings:

FSB Bus Frequency - 250

LDT/FSB Frequency Ration - x3.0

CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio - x11.0

PCI eXpress Frequency - 100Mhz

CPU VID StartUp Value - 1.5v

CPU VID Control - 1.300v

CPU VID Special Control - Avove VID * 123%

LDT Voltage Control - 1.20v

Chip Set Voltage Control - 1.50v

DRAM Voltage Control - 3.30v

DRAM Configuration Settings:

DRAM Frequency Set - 200 (DRAM/FSB:1/01)

Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable

CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 1.5

RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 02 Bus Clocks

Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 05 Bus Clocks

Row precharge time (Trp) - 02 Bus Clocks

Row Cycle time (Trc) - 07 Bus Clocks

Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 16 Bus Clocks

Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 02 Bus Clocks

Write recovery time (Twr) - 02 Bus Clocks

Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 01 Bus Clocks

Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 02 Bus Clocks

Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - 01 Bus Clocks

DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled

DQS Skew Control - Auto

DQS Skew Value - 0

DRAM Drive Strength - Level 8

DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 4

Max Async Latency - 6.0 nanoseconds

Read Preamble Time - 5.5 nanoseconds

3.16 bios, I cant get it prime 95 stable over 2.7 gigs

i upped my chipset voltage to 1.6 and i can now boot into windows with it @ 2.81Ghz from a previous best of 2,7Ghz with chipset @ 1.5V.

I am currently priming @ 2.7ghz with 1.55Vcore been going a few hours now

i did have it @ 2.75 w/ 1.58V for 2 hours with no error but backed off coz temp reached 50*c

it's now @ 47* priming and folding @ the same time

I'll have to try 1.6v on the chipset. I've changed case cooling since my last oc attempts.
