oring Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I have had many issues trying to get this system to run. but my latest issue, after many part swaps replaced x800xl with pci vga, replaced kingston ram with patriot and tested good on mem. cranked ram volts to 2.8 set ram configs to 2-3-2-5 all power cables r in, and have plenty of power, 500w no matter what parts i have in the system i always get same error during windows install during, most these parts were in my old system and have been working good actually i have it next and i swap them back and they run fine on soyo dragon xp2800 barton. my cpu is 3000 venice. system is bare atm just one stick ram, cpu, and pci graphic card all i have in current config. looking around the forums i was thinking i had a ram issue but it all tests good, the progress got better once i manully entered the ram timing in bios. im at my end and ready to dump the board for a easier recipe. I see lots of fixes and some knowledge flowing please help. sorry trying to find where my profile is
mack73 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 My experience with this error was my CD-ROM was giving me the machine check exception BSOD. Were you able to get windows installed without the BSOD? If possible, try running with just a harddrive and seeing if it boots?

OceanSeasforMe Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 hit advanced search and type venice bios support. You need to update the bios to get core support for your CPU.

suio Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I had exactly the same error before. It happened from time to time. One of my memory sticks was bad. Test them individually in the orange slot (away from the CPU). Replacing the memory sticks fixed the problem for me.
dracos Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I had the same problem when I did a clean install.... it was that I didn't reset bios after I flashed it... and also it didn't like the second set of ram..
