scrapser Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 While running a suggested set of BIOS values for (623-3) to get my memory stable, I started smelling that "hot electrical parts" odor and shut down immediately. It appeared to be coming from my PSU. After shutting down, I sniffed around and the odor seemed strongest coming out the PSU rear exhaust fan (I have the case cover off so I don't think it was simply venting). Since everything is brand new, I'm hoping this was just the result of initial temperature break in (if there is such a thing). I hope it didn't hurt anything. Here are the settings in case anyone's interested...
