3 Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Ok, I just got my XP-90 and Panaflo Ultra High Speed fan in the mail today, and call me a noob, but can anybody point me to an installation guide for the XP-90 on a socket 939 motherboard? It is a lot more complex than the stock cooler, and I don't want to break or bend anything. Thanks for your help.
Angry_Games Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 http://www.thermalright.com/ on the left side is a menu, look at Installation, then click XP-90 (K8)/pdf

3 Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Alright I got it setup but I have two questions. 1. Which way should the fan be facing for it to blow on the heatsink? With the lable side down? Because when I had it up I felt a lot of air coming from it when I put my hand over it and when I had it down I did not feel as much. 2. Why does the CPU fan speed read always as 0 now? It is a 3-pin fan and has 3 wires (yellow red and black). Thanks.
scrapser Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I believe the side with the label is usually the exhaust. There should be an arrow on the casing as well. The fan needs to be plugged into the "CPU Fan" connector on your MB. It should be labeled and described in the manual. scrapser
3 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Ok, thanks, I see on the website that the fan I got does not have speed detection, so oh well.
Angry_Games Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 as far as i know, the Panaflo fan has 3 wires but the rpm sensor does not actually exist on the fan itself (i passed on the Panaflo for this reason...if it had it, I would buy 10 of them)
