BDahl Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Hi, I recently bought an NF4 SLI-DR motherboard and I decided to flash the bios today. After it flashed, it verified and said the flash was successful. But when I tried to boot into windows, it would immediately restart. I thought that if I put in the WindowsXP cd, i'd be able to perform a repair or a clean install to clean any settings that may have gotten corrupted, as I had just installed the latest nVidia drivers for my board too. The problem is is that the CD would load all of the files into memory and just hang at "Starting Windows..." I then tried booting into safe mode and it would start loading until it got past MAP.SYS (I assume MEM.SYS is next) then it would restart. So I then tried clearing the CMOS and loading the optimized defaults. Same thing as above. I then ran MEMTEST 86+ and it checked out fine. I don't have a clue what to do. I do have an ULTRA X-CONNECT 500W PSU which I hear is very buggy with these boards. But my system was working fine until I loaded up the latest BIOS. Any suggestions? Sharp Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Hello, What BIOS did you flash to? What are the memory timings for your modules? (any idea on the MAKE?)
