tarkins Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Ok this is how it started, I always leave my computer open during the night and this morning, I had these Norton Anti-Virus messages on my screen: Date: 7/13/2003, Time: 23:50:20, Guest on ATHLON-OV36IQLM The file C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\DOCUMENTS\quake3demo.exe is infected with the W32.Spybot.Worm virus. Unable to repair this file. Date: 7/13/2003, Time: 23:50:20, Guest on ATHLON-OV36IQLM The file C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\DOCUMENTS\quake3demo.exe is infected with the W32.Spybot.Worm virus. Access to the file was denied. Date: 7/13/2003, Time: 23:50:24, Guest on ATHLON-OV36IQLM The file F:\quake3demo.exe is infected with the W32.Spybot.Worm virus. Unable to repair this file. Date: 7/13/2003, Time: 23:50:24, Guest on ATHLON-OV36IQLM The file F:\quake3demo.exe is infected with the W32.Spybot.Worm virus. Access to the file was denied. First thing to notice, I wasn't log as Guest at this time (but as Admin). When I saw these messages this morning, I update Norton and start a full system scan: the result are negative, everyting is perfect. I tried to delete those 2 files but they didn't seem to exist. Ad-aware 6.0 can't find anything. So I tought that might be a Norton's error so I forgot this worm for a moment and I started gaming online. But the problem started: I have huge lag every 45-60 sec, I tried a lot of game: same prob every where. I think it is the fault of this worm. I tried to reboot my modem/router but the problem is still there, what can I do?

TurcoLoco Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 Try downloading SwatIt and scanning your system with this anti-trojan spybot scanner.....also instead of ad-aware Spybot search&destroy is more effective, plus it comes with several cool system tools too!
