Recallv6 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I keep getting this error occasionally when I boot up windows. Now, I have searched this problem and people say it is probably a memory problem. But I can prime for 8 hours until I stopped it without any problems. Memtest also passes without any problems. I have loosened my timings but it keeps happeing. I also bumped up the voltage a bit but that doesn't do anything either! 3dmark and everything else work fine. Games work fine as well. I cannot figure this problem out. Everytime I figure out one problem, it seems to lead to another problem! I am totally frustrated right now. I do not know what is going on with my computer as I have had numerous problems recently. Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 that error almost always is memory, or memory settings. i would try a brand/module that we know works well and can suggest all kinds of settings for. I dont have any Kingmax and I dont know anyone that has any.
Recallv6 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Well I tried to use a some PQI turbo memory but that didn't help. For some reason, my HDD would not respond after I installed the PQI ram. I have suspected my RAM for awhile but it seems to keep passin all the memtest and other stress tests.
Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 you need to put your bios version in your sig also 5/10/2005 or later for Venice/San Diego/X2 support take a look at post #2 in the Critical sticky...it explains the need for as much detailed information as possible. a 3200+ cpu can be anything...we dont have any idea and we dont read minds nor can we guess as to what exactly it is. Recallv6 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Oops sorry I forgot those two pieces of information. Anyways, I am wondering how can I pass memtest and all those stress tests but still get errors? It seems sort of weird to me. The problem is, I do not have a lot of moeny to spend on new RAM. If the kingmax ram is defective I would like to RMA it but since I have passed memtest, they probably wont accept it? So I am in a bind here. Recallv6 Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I see. Well I got some ram from a friend and I get the same error! It is actually even worse since it happened during prime. Before it would never happen while in windows just during windows loading. What is going on!?!!?
fooit Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I don't think it's ram - in my case I can get this IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL every single time I am trying to boot into XP - I just need to upgrade to the latest VNRAID drivers. Should we blame BIOS?

Could you please add some info why do you think it's memory and why your settings (specific to your memory) should work for different memory? Anyway, I'll try to go back from 2-2-2-6 to 2-3-3-8 and see how my rig will behave.
