pacmaann2 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 hey i jsut got my dfi board about a week ago i had everything up and running by thursday night. i had to bump up the voltage on my corsair ram from 2.60 to 2.80 and everything ran fine. Everything else runs at stock speeds i ran prime 95 for 8 hours no errors. I ran half life 2 last night I noticed it started to trip out so i looked at the tempatures. the chipset was running a little warm at 52 C so i turned it off and went to bed. went to turn the computer on this afternoon i get to windows loading and get the irql error. i tryed to boot into safe mode same thing. i bumped up the voltage to 2.9 it booted once or twice then it keeps dumping agian so i put the voltage down and here i am wondering what happened as i dont remember installing anything last night. system specs are in my sig
suio Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 IRQL errors are usually memory related for the DFI boards. Post your bios version and settings line by line. Note that Corsair memory doesn't work well with DFI boards.
pacmaann2 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 my bios version is the 06/23 bios revision. only thing that i have changed in the bios is upping the voltage to 2.8 other wise everything is defualt. thing is it will boot about every tenth time or so. im considering returning the ram getting some ocz. thing is i would rather prefer not to do that becuase my computer will be down for a while
