No Ethernet (Marvell or nVidia) after 6.66 Driver Installation

Recommended Posts

I was setting up a new Asus A8N-E system last night. I had the 6.66 drivers already on the hard drive. I installed the drivers and everything appeared to work fine until I installed Norton SystemWorks. When running live update, many of the updates were failing to install due to corrupt files. I tried manual updates -- again, corrupt files. I though it was a problem with Symantec's server or something. I downloaded some of the updates on my computer and transfered them over to the A8N-E computer. They installed okay that way.

Long story short... I wiped out the hard drive and started over today. I used the 6.53 drivers instead. Live update worked perfectly and none of the other downloads caused any problems.

Unfortunately it looks like that may be what I am going to have to do. I think the WAP is working fine so I feel like I am about out of options.

That is so odd. I've no issues with 6.66 at all.

Everyone did remember to cleanly uninstall 6.53 and then install 6.66, no?

Try downloading... see if you get any corruption in the files like I did.

OK, well I physically moved my whole setup downstairs to the wired router, plugged it in, and bingo, ethernet is working. Looks like it was my WAP the whole time, just very coincidental timing. Thanks for all the help.
