ReMoose Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 #1 ugly case #2 why the 200 pin laptop ram for a 184 pin SLI-DR? #3 1 400GB hdd costs more than 2 250GB and 500>400 you could probably even add another 250 and come up within $50 of the 400GB price #4 your 24" monitor is 1/4 of the total cost.....why not get a 42" plasma screen and make it a $10,000 machine? #5 If your going to spend $1400 on vid cards why not get the 7800gtx's....correct me if im wrong 2 7800gtx>6800ultras with 512 mem? Should video games really be added in with the total cost of components?
Surrept Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 so it wasn't just me then, how do you spend 800 on laptop memory?
ReMoose Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 there $200 a piece and the person is trying to fill all 4 slots....
Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 i can beat it by spending probably less than half the cost but the problem is what i think is superior is relative to me and no one else my rule is never buy anything that just came out...i wait until the badass vid cards are $200 or less, I wait until the cpu that i wanted when it was $550 is only $200 or less... its the '$200 Angry Rule'

Surrept Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I spent $95 at frozencpu today for a whole lot of nothing, but thats inc shipping  bios saviour arctic ceramique ratpadz mousepad zalman for nb clear top window a few led's case badge and some fittings to get my water cooling back up Mostly things i've needed/wanted since I got my system but put off for another time. Then I bought a swiftech storm from swiftnets so with any luck my nf2 will be performeing again and I won't need another system for a while. Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 lol yep...i had to buy a damn thermalright neo backplate just to get the mounting hardware (i've got like 6 neo backplates but only enough mounts for 2 NF2 rigs) and hten i saw that thermal material @ $.75 so i had to get 2 of those (since i hate AS5 and ASC) then 2 more of those $4.99 speaker kits since they really come in handy on my test benches + loaners for customers locally until they can get off their duff and get real speakers heh
Surrept Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 That stuff adds up fast, sort of hard to spend money on something that won't give results. Nice buy on the .75 thermal paste, I dont get the hype behind as5 asc but they didnt have anything cheap and i'm allready paying shipping.
