gruntbull Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Ok, I understand that the multiplier for the FSB directly corrilates with the overall speed of the CPU, and the OC potential. I have read that some peeps use a 10 multiple... in my bios (310 and now 702-2) I have the max option of 9, am I missing a setting change that allows me to go more? If so can someone clue me in. And also two more questions: does the chipset fan have ghetto tape under it? I was in a rush when I got my board .... 1 week late from Monarch, that I left it stock. And what is the website for the BIOS releases? I get mine from another forum FTP server, I would like to have the actual website addy, thank you. ALSO THE DFI ULTRA-D BOARD IS AWESOME... truely well made PCB. My system info: OCZ 520 Modstream PSU DFI NF4 Ultra-D Running 702-2 BIOS Mushkin Redline PC3500 512x2 @233Mhz with 2,3,2,6 1T A64 Venice 3000+ 1.5V @2.1Ghz w/9 multiplier (Zalman HSF 32C)
Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 3000+ = 200x9 default ie 200FSB (DDR400) multiplied by 9 (the cpu's highest multiplier) = 1800Mhz stock speeds. you can go down, but not up.
Guest scott Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Different AMD cpu's have different default multi's. The multi of 10 that you refer to is the default multiplier for Athlon 3200+. AMD link DFI Official released bios
Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 http://www.angrygames.com/AMD_CPU/AMD_64/AMD_64.htm easier to read they need to be updated with the latest cores but you should get the idea from there and from reading the sticky threads in this section.
