Angry_Games Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Just checked this at newegg... http://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesForN...v2/index01.html seems if you buy one of the Dual Core AMD X2's (or a 4000+ San Diego), you can an Asus 6800GT PCI-E for $293.00 example: AMD Athlon 64 4000+ ADA4000BNBOX • 1MB L2 Cache • 2.4GHz • Socket 939 PRICE: $473.99 Select + ASUS EN6800GT/2DT/256MB Video Card EN6800GT/2DT/256MB • Geforce 6800GT • S-Video/Composite Out • PCI-Express x16 PRICE: $388.00 $20 Instant with CPU *PRICE WITH COMBO: $293.60 Select $293.00 for a 6800GT PCI-E is still a pretty damn good price brand new, and Asus makes very good quality products... scratch that...it seems that the 6800 doesnt exist...but ive just fired off an email to newegg...and maybe ExRoadie can talk to his contact there and find out what is up with the combo deal not working correctly.... http://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesForN...V/indexnew.html this is the Dual-Core cpu combo page...it shows the Asus 6800GT PCI-E @ $293.00, but when you choose it and a cpu, it never shows up in the combo deal. I tried about 5 times, and the shopping cart would show items I did not check like corsair memory instead of the 6800GT as a choice. Then the last time, it gave me this message trying to add the 6800GT to the combo: Sorry, out of stock. Item(s) N82E16814121192 could not be added to the shopping cart. Update CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 550 (PC 4400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWINX1024-4400C25 - Retail Model #: TWINX1024-4400C25 Select An Optional Extended Warranty Plan1 Year Service Net Replacement Plan -- $39.992 Year Service Net Replacement Plan -- $59.99 Remove Save Move To Wish List $216.00 $216.00 problem is, I did not choose corsair memory, only the 4800+ and the 6800GT... I'd really like to be able to offer all of the users of DFI-Street.com a chance to get this deal...its a fantastic deal, but almost seems too good to be true. Let me know! Protagonist. Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Good deal for the PCI-E version. The AGP version get a lot cheaper than that. It's weird I remember somebody saying that PCI-E cards are actually cheaper to produce or something like that. But they cost a lot more than the AGP version usually.
