grimworld Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I´ve tried to install the drivers but the Realtek Lan did not show up in device manager. I have it enabled in bios and even tried to manually install it in "Add new hardware" but then I got a "code 10" error in device manager. Can there be something wrong with my board? I have LP NF2 Ultra Rev. A and the 7/18/2003 bios
red930 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Did you install it off the disk that came w/your MB
Shinobi Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 THIS is the Realtek LAN Driver you want. Don't add new hardware, just launch the Setup.exe to install them and it should be fine.
grimworld Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I´ve done that already. In device manager I only get 1394 Net Adapter and NVidia nForce MCP Networking controller. When I installed the drivers from the CD it completed the install without an error but there is no Realtek device in Device managera after install. Shinobi Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Have you tried updating to a later Bios? It could be a Bios Issue.
grimworld Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I´ve now updated the bios to 1/7/04 and then I got "Unknown PCI device" in Device Manager. Device Instance ID: PCIVEN_0043&DEV_8200&SUBSYS_00000004&REV_004&3B1D9AB8&1&6040 Location: PCI Slot 10 (PCI bus 1, device 12, function 0) I can´t use the Realtek drivers with this device. Anything else??
Shinobi Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Uninstall all your chipset, video card & lan drivers and then do a cleanup with Driver Cleaner Pro in Safe Mode. Reboot back in to normal Windows then install your Chipset Drivers, Graphics Card Drivers & Realtek Lan Drivers in that order and see how you go. Another thought, how are you trying to install the Realtek Drivers?
Shinobi Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Something else you can try, Look for the Mac Address of the Lan(should be on a sticker on the AGP Slot or maybe a PCI Slot, i'm not sure with the LanParty A...) and enter it manually in the Bios, then see if it shows up... That might work for the Nvidia lan,but I never had any probs installing the Gigabit lan from the drivers off the CD,that was on 3/15 or whatever came w/the MB all the way up to 6/19 and it's modded variations
loggan26 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 No Shin the MAc address wont prevent it from being shown in the device manager, it would just prevent it from working, it would still show as installed and enabled, its a driver or OS conflict or the lan hardware is fubared...... grimworld Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Ok now I´ve reinstalled all the drivers in the correct order. There is no "Unknown PCI Device" in Device Manager anymore and I get a green light when I connect the cable to the lower LAN connection but I always get "A Network Cable unplugged". Is the Realtek Lan only for gigabit? Is it not 10/100/1000???
red930 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 On my LP b I always got the same message because there are two lan connections, whichever one isn't being used would display that message. The manual states, full duplex support at 10,100,1000 Mbps
