Karajan audio not working!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

jsut finished building my new system. here are the specs:

DFI Lanparty nF4 Sli-dr

AMD 64 3200+ venice core

XFX 6600GT 128mb

1gb DDR 3200 cosair (x2 512mb)

x2 120gb IDE hard drives

Tagan 480w PSU

Windows XP pro

Everything is installed and running fine apart from the karajan audio module which does not seem to be working...i am trying to figure out if its actually faulty or i have done something wrong when installing it. Its not showing up in device manger so i can't install the audio drivers.

tried everything i can think of, so any help would be much appreciated,

cheers

Hello,

Did you touch the blue jumpers on the module?

Is it plugged into the board properly?

Look on the Karajan module, see the codec it should have this printed on it.

ALC850.

Does your one say ALC850 or does it say ALC880?

The audio driver should install with the nF4 driver, also check in your BIOS, should be under intergrated peripherals (somthing like that). Make sure the onboard audio is set to Auto.

Hello,

ALC850.

Does your one say ALC850 or does it say ALC880?

in response to the first question yes i did as installed the front audio cables after noticing the problem i replaced the jumpers in the same place i found them.

For the second i presume it is plugged in properly, and have taken it out and put it back in again.

The codec does read alc850.

in repsonse to mobius yeah i ve checked everything in the bios is running on the right settings.

Went i install the nvidia nf4 drivers (including the audio one) and go add/remove and click remove drivers the audio one does not appear...don; tknow if this has anything to do with it...

anyways guys thanks for the responses i will check again tomorrow.

Bolt, I think the answer you will get is that you need a 480 watt 24 pin power supply before they can actually answer the question about your audio problems.
