herc1979 Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 My problem is when I clean install windows xp with sp#1 and then update to sp#2 my pc will only boot to the windows xp splash screen then reboot itself automatically. I tried installing windows xp with sp#2 integrated but that give me a blue screen with error 0x0000004e (0x0000008f, 0x000195d8, 0x00019500, 0x00000000) after windows setup files are installed. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Shinobi Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Making a signature with your full system specs in would help Herc1979 Hmmm, have you tried using a WinXP SP2 Slipstream CD? I know some guys with Venices were having issues with SP2 that was related to its DEP support, there was a thread about it in overclocking. But i don't know whether thats whats causing your problem here because it only caused them issues when overclocking...

Shinobi Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Have you thought about making a slipstreamed version of XP with SP2? Its very easy, and there are various guides on the net that show you how to do it. You could even do it with NLite which makes it even easier... Don't know whether that'll help with your current problem but it would make subsequent installs a lot easier...
suio Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I had serious problems with both Slipstream and nLite. Use the original WIn XP installation CD.

StephenC Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Please create a sig go here. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/usercp.php? I would suggest you flash to bios 510-2 Then try the below settings. 1. Clear cmos (make sure unplug power cable to psu) 2. Boot and go into bios. Set to load optimized default 3. Save and reboot. 4. Set dim voltage to 2.6 Make the below changes. CAS Latency CL 2.5 Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3 Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 6 Row Precharge Time tRP 3 Plus turn off cpu throttling. Also set cpc to auto (s/b by default) 5. Save and reboot. 6. Run memtest86 on each each stick in dimm slot two. If no issues then place both in dimm slot 2 and 4. and run memtest again.

Protagonist. Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Suio, I'm sorry but nLite works almost perfectly. Especially if the only thing you are doing is slipstreaming. Might want to check if you did something wrong. I highly recommend using nLite, clean installs every time.
herc1979 Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Well what I tried doing is installed windows xp with sp #1 and instead of installing the supplied mobo drivers I installed the latest nforce 4 drivers (6.66) and installed sp #2 again now it works fine. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions!
