Is there any Hellfire/3rd party bios for Lanparty NF2 Ultra A??

Recommended Posts

I´ve searched through the forum for any bios info for Lanparty NFII Ultra rev A but I can´t find any thread with that subject.

Can you tell me if there is any Bios other than an official one that I can try?

I have now this bios 6A61BD49 - 18.07.2003 (Well this is the name of the .bin file)

too much difference in how the boards are tuned I think to really utilize the Lanparty B's great features.

not saying it could be done, but DFI never spent a lot of time tuning the LPA bios much because everyone (reviewers, customers) pointed out the fact that it really should have 3.3v vdimm and 4 mounting holes around the cpu socket and 4-channel SATA RAID etc.

The end bios for the chips that were out at the time (up to Mobiles) I think had the advanced bios features like the LPB. Most of us if I recall got better luck with the final official bios. I was always able to get really good clocks out of it with 4400 Hynix stuff and my unlocked 2500+ Barton, but the vdimm to 2.9v really hurt it because at that time, the best stuff on earth was real good old school Winbond BH-5 that people were just starting to find out would do 2-2-2-11 @ 3.3v and higher up to 250 if you had a modded Epox, or the Abit NF7s.

Heck I even convinced them to hurry up and put out the "B" version because it would be very popular and it was...so much that enough users got Oskar to unhide a lot of those advanced DRAM settings that you see in the B, NF3, and NF4.

anyway, I am babbling cuz its Sunday but it would be kinda cool if the LPA had an updated and tuned bios...but I'm also saying you probably wont have a lot of luck with it because the boards are in quite different in how they were designed and set up. (the angry challenge!)

Well with that said I just upgraded the An81d107.bin with the following.

I used the BPL from Hellfires 3EG-Rev3 Bios.

Upgraded the Highpoint Bios to 2.351

Enabled Gate A20 option and CPU Temp option.

Don't know what else can be done, If anything as I have never owned this board or even had a DFI at the time this board was out.

EDIT: Now comes the real problem, Who is going to test it? I don't have this board.

Also a spare bios chip or Bios Savior would be a good idea.

Well we have TCCD now and some great coolers that don't need mounting holes like the SI-97 which would help ppl with the A's a lot.

Hmmm, now i'm interested in seeing the results from this. We definitely need someone with a LanParty A and a backup plan(Bios Saviour, Spare Bios Chip).

Finally something going on

Well the sad part is this is probably as far as it will go.

Not too many people have requested a new tweaked bios for the A.

If you ever get a bios backup just drop me a post and we will see what happens.

Hey, maybe i can help here in the testing,

Ive mistakenly bought a NFII Ultra (was after the Ultra-B, darn!!!). Ive managed to flash a LPB bios onto it fine. Dont use SATA, so no problem with controller here. Anything over 2.9v ddr in bios dont work, must be hardwired, LOL.

Would there be any advantages flashing to a modded NFII Ultra bios?

oh and no mounting holes is going to be a future problem for the home made WC unit I had planned for this mobo
