No boot after CMOS flash on SLI-DR

Recommended Posts

Hi !

I got yesterday my new computer : A64 X2 4400+, DFI nF4 SLI-DR, 2x512 Mb A-Data PC4000, OCZ Powerstream 520W, HIS X850 XT.

After everything was installed, I tested Super Pi and noticed that my score was very bad (~ 60 secs @ 2400 Mhz). I saw that the latest CMOS improved Dual Core performance. I decided to install the beta CMOS (02 July 2005) in -3 version, which seems to be the most compatible.

I flashed the CMOS, everything went without problem. I restarted the computer when I was told to do it. And when I wanted to reboot : no display. I've tested in single channel and with an old memory module of OCZ BH-?, it didn't solve the problem. The screen stays off.

Does somebody have a solution ? I really don't know what to do :(

Thanks a lot !

Hello,

- Remove the power cord from the PSU (power supply)

- Place the CMOS jumper in the clear position

- Leave it there for 10mins

- Put it back to the save position after 10mins

- Power the PC and see what happens.

I've tested a clear CMOS (not during 10 minutes, but I never had to put the jumper in the clear position more than 10 seconds to clear CMOS on my other computers), without success.

We need your specs in a sig really;) Sharp has it right no harm trying.

OK don't be offended make sure the cord to the monitor is plugged in before you start the computer- many will not turn on if you mess with it afterwards are the lights on and are the fans spinning?

You might have had a bad flash- in theory at least you want to flash when memtest and prime stable. When I flash I go back to stock settings and if something is really wrong I will go to one stick of memory at stock settings.

Problem has been solved. I don't understand the way of solving it, but it works :)

The trick was to boot while pressing INSER, it gave me the display back and I flashed the CMOS again with an official bios this time.

Strange motherboard...
