Corpsman Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 So I purchased a second xFx 6800GT. I changed both rows of jumpers on the board to SLI (Bottom two pin rows), installed the cards, installed the bridge.... NOTHING. No video whatsoever. I did the typical diagbostic stuff. Both cards work independant on both x16 slots. When I installed the card single to the lower x16 slot I installed the new driver as well. What am I doing worng? Is there a BIOS setting perhaps? Also xFx sUx. They have NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT other then by email.
Angry_Games Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 you need to first make sure that both of those cards have the EXACT same video bios. they MUST have the same BIOS
Corpsman Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 OK, I have not updated the BIOS at all. How do I check which BIOS version the cards have? Thanx for the prompt response.
Shard Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Angry is right! They need to be the exact same cards with the exact same video bios. You should be able to get the video bios version somewhere in the display properties screen under advanced. That's where it is for my intel onboard vga and it's also there for nvidia cards I've used...
Corpsman Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Well it is obvious that these cards have different BIOS as one card is a version 2.0 and the other is version 2.1. SO I have to import the BIOS from the 2.1 card and apply it to the 2.0 card. The question is..... How?

Shard Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 You could also approach your card manufacturer, ie. If you have a Leadtek card then ask Leadtek customer support to send you the bios and update instructions for their card...
Kabong Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 You could also approach your card manufacturer, ie. If you have a Leadtek card then ask Leadtek customer support to send you the bios and update instructions for their card... I don't think XFX will help him there. Anyway, you can check for BIOS version (not PCB version) by looking at the stickers in the VGA board and/or VGA box. XFX usually puts a sticker with that info in the VGA and in the box. ricey Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 also, you need to enable sli in nVidia display. ricey
davidhammock200 Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 The Antec NeoPower 480W has a max combined output of +12V@32A, nVidia recommends +12V@34A for their highend SLI. Close enough & Antec under-rates their PSU's as well, so you should be fine there. Good luck with the BIOS, I know that xFx tech support is not what it should be.
