Ultra-D power delay

Recommended Posts

Since getting my ultra-D board, I keep having to wait like 30 seconds before I can switch on my computer. Is this normal? I've flashed the BIOS to the 310 version. Whenever I turn on the PSU (normally after off for over a couple of hours) the power LED comes on and then turns off after 30 seconds. After which I am able to turn on my computer. Within the 30 seconds, if I turn on the computer, it doesn't boot.

I have an Atec 480W NeoPower.

It worked with my Epox board. System stability is fine and I've had no problems at all. I've tried using the onboard power buttons and that makes no difference.

As for HDD, I only have 2 and 1 DVD-RW drive.

I do however have a molex cable connected into the motherboard.

Hope you can help,

Thanks.

Hello,

What components are you using?

- Make a list of everything. (PSU/GFX card/memory- 1 stick? all the same make?)

Did you plug all the power connectors into the board?

- Floppy connector under the CPU socket.

- Are you using a 24pin PSU (very importtant)

It is sounding like the PSU is overloaded.

Sharp is asking the right question.

You need to ensure ALL FOUR power connectors are connected to the board.

20-ping ATX, 4pin beside ATX, Molex Connector, and Floppy Connector.

Once this is done...it takes about 1 second for the board to charge before you can turn it on.

I have the following plugged in the motherboard:

24 Pin

4 pin

4 pin molex

I've plugged in the CPU fan socket as normal.

I have: 2 x 1GB Corsair XMSPC3200, A64 3200+ Winchester, X850 XT PE OEM.

Do I have to plug in a floppy cable in?

Where's the socket located?

Thanks.

Floppy plug in is just below the CPU and just above the PCIE slot.

it provides more pathways for the board to feed off of when it gets hungry for juice.

ALSO, do you have a rail overloaded with lots of heavy draw items ? Try to space out the connections. I fed one regular rail to the mobo only. (*for clean power.)

And then the other rails went to the extras/ fans.

I've plugged in the FDD connector and made sure all the cables are firmly in.

Will check computer tomorrow after the PSU has cooled.

How many orange LED lights are meant to be on?

I currently have 2 on.
