mklint000 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Sounds like a great deal. Too bad I just bought these last week for $150.00 You win some and you lose some. Why do I always lose. Oh well. BTW, if anyone is looking for a soundcard, ZZF has the Audigy 2 ZS Gamer for 69.99 after 30.00 rebate(4th of july special). http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=360223
Angry_Games Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 this stuff has been steadily going down in price as more and more users purchase it (i can happily say that my recommendations + everyone else's since i started recommending it has caused newegg to run out of stock a couple times so they purchase larger and larger quantities, thereby getting a better price from OCZ and passing the savings on to you)
Oclock Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 hey angry i got these, as you convinced me, and now im burning them in. I can run these at 2-2-2-5 @215 3.1v with no errors on memtest. When i try and go up to 220 or higher i get memory dumps and i dont know what else to do. Any suggestions on fixing this? i want to try and get the most fsb out of these babies. Also 3.1 is the max in my bios and was wondering what versions should i get to go up to 3.3v which i believe is the suggested value for burning in. I know thats alot but anything will help. Thanks again

aggybong Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Tempted to get this since my memory won't do 250mhz @ 2-2-2-8 with 3.2v. Oh the choices to make
Protagonist. Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 I'm just wondering. It seems like you always suggest PC-3200 speed ram and you know a lot about overclocking. I haven't really done much yet so I'm not sure on this. But is PC-3200 ram best for overclocking? Or is like say PC-4400 ram actually easier to overclock? From my logic it would seem that higher speed ram would be easier to overclock because you could leave it at it's default timings and everything and then just catch up to it's speed with the FSB without having to worry about messing with ram timings and voltage? Angry_Games Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 there's never a guarantee that anything will overclock just because you have PC4400 doesn't mean your DDR400 FSB cpu will overclock to the memory's rated speeds i dont pay any attention to the 'rated speeds' on memory as they are meaningless to me. i only pay attention to my own results + other users's results on what memories can do. keep in mind that i might be able to get 270FSB out of these 3200 Golds, but you might only get 215FSB out of them... cmay119 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 LOL, I keep trying to suggest my G. Skill UTT-BH5 but OCZ keeps dropping their prices so it's not worth it going with the GH sticks... still $150 @ newegg...
