been clocking, tweaking, get this error on boot, cannot boot? please h

Recommended Posts

Well i was tweaking my overclock, and re-booting, and i went into BIOS, chsnged some settings, saved, re-booted, and i got a screen saying this:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corupt:

windows/system32/config/system

You can repair by using windows startup setup disk using original CD-ROM, press R.

And then it re-set the CMOS on it's own??????

What the hell????

How do i fix this guys? I press r and nothing happens it just re-boots and starts again till the error pops up?

do NOT use the repair-console !

There's an other option where you can do a repair-install so it would re-install all your windows files but your settings and programs stay intact.

reset CMOS, load optimized defaults ! NO overclocked settings !

Boot off Windows XP CD...and then do repair-install, NOT the one with the recovery console - and ALSO not the complete new install.

I have no option for that, if i press enter to isntall, then the license agreement, the next screen, does not give me a repair option.
