bolshevik Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 First off, what PSU are you using?
eBoy0 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Blue screens means it's something to do with your memory configuration. Voltage i'd guess because that's what my problem was until i got me a DDR Booster. diffrent mobo though.
PS8282 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 PSU is Sharkoon Silent Storm 535W especially for SLI!!! ENOUGH POWER!!!
eBoy0 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 It's your memory not getting nuff voltage i think, not the bios. Another error you might be getting is "unbootable_boot_volume"
PS8282 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Voltage is at 2.8 right now! Can i cranck that up a bit more without blowing my memory???
eBoy0 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 First find out what your memory is rated at for stability, every ram is diffrent. I'm able to squeeze over 3.7vdimm into my muskin xp4000. Lemme try and find out for yah
PS8282 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 That would be nice, wouldn't have a clue where to look for that!!!
eBoy0 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I think this is your memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145524 Hmm it's rated at 2.75v Weird... i'm puzzled. I fixed my blue screens w/ a lil more voltage. Maybe it's your timings?
bolshevik Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I'm not familiar with your memory (I'll just assume it's TCCD) but I got some TCC5 and although many have said that the -2 BIOS variants are good for TCCx, it just wasn't the case for me. I had random freezes and BSODs similar to what you're getting. You should try the -1 and -3 variants to see if the problem still persists. Also, is your system overclocked at all? ccone Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 According to the Tech PowerUp memory database, the chips on that memory are Samsung TCCD: http://www.techpowerup.com/memdb/ Package: TSOP Stock Voltage: 2.5 V Max. recommended Voltage: 2.9 V usually do 2-2-2 @ 200; 2-3-3 up to 230; 2,5-3-3 up to 265; 2,5-4-4 up to 275 New chips love voltage (more than 3,1 with active cooling) and go 250+ @ 2-2-2 They indicate the same chips used for both revisions of the Corsair XMS-PC3200XL (revisions 1.1 and 1.2) CC
